In Italy, many cities exceed the limits of airborne fine particles established by law, with consequent damage to health.

To counter this emergency, Axians Italia has collaborated with the Municipality of Genoa, in particular with the Porto Antico, an area with a high population density and highly exposed to pollution.

Axians Italia has created an advanced real-time environmental monitoring system.

Sensors have been installed to detect parameters such as temperature, humidity, noise, atmospheric pressure and pollution levels, with a particular focus on those indicated in the Air Quality Index (AQI).

The data collected is transmitted via 5G technology to a central platform, allowing authorities to continuously monitor air quality and intervene promptly when necessary.

The advantages of this solution are many:

  • Improved air quality
  • compliance with environmental regulations
  • Healthier environment for citizens

The success of the project has prompted the Municipality of Genoa to extend it to other areas of the city, paving the way for the adoption of similar technologies in other urban realities with similar problems of air pollution.

A concrete example of how Smart Cities can improve the lives of citizens and protect public health.
